Located in Kirkcaldy's town centre, the Adam Smith Theatre is a popular venue in a traditional setting, well-loved for its high-quality shows, full-scale cinema and long history as the heart of the local arts scene. The theatre café is open during the day for hot food, snacks, and home baking, with the bar open on performance nights. The outside of the building remains the same as when it first opened in 1889, looking out onto historic Kirkcaldy's peaceful Memorial Gardens.

On foot
Adam Smith Theatre is located in Kirkcaldy town centre, just a few minutes' walk from the shops and train station.

By car
Take the Kirkcaldy West exit off the A92, and follow signs for the town centre. Look out for the brown signs in the centre, which will guide you to the Theatre. Limited car parking is available at the theatre, with additional spaces available nearby at the train station.

By public transport
The main bus terminal is in Kirkcaldy town centre, a few minutes' walk from the theatre. The Adam Smith Theatre is five minutes' walk from Kirkcaldy station, which is on the East Coast and Fife Circle train lines.

Accessibility
The Adam Smith Theatre is fully accessible, with: ramped access to theatre building an induction loop in main auditorium, accessible adapted toilet facilities in foyer, a lift for travel to the upper floor, four wheelchair spaces and disabled parking spaces available. Guide dogs are welcome at all our venues.
